👩‍🏫Program Objectives


🤔Am I eligible?

You can apply for the program as a mentee if you... 

  • Have at least a beginner-level ability to code and some familiarity with open source development
  • Are interested in Bitcoin and or/Lightning Network projects  
  • Can commit 1-2 hours per week to synchronous meetings, for study groups and workshops, as well as ~4 hours per week of asynchronous homework and communications from Sept 1-Oct 31

Note: There is no geographical requirement as long as you can accommodate and attend online classes run by New York-based facilitators at 2-3pm EST on Wednesdays.

You can apply for the program as a mentor if you... 

  • Would like to gain leadership skills and professional networking opportunities
  • Can commit 1-2 hours per week to mentor training and communications with assigned mentee(s)

Q: What if I am not available for some of the live meetings or workshops?

A: You're welcome to continue attending workshops and calls throughout the program. You'll still learn as long as you come back! However, only mentees who attend at least 6 group calls, plus 2 mentorship calls, are eligible for the recruiting program assistance and the bitcoin bounties. Mentors must participate in a minimum of 3 live calls (2 mentorship calls and at least one group call) to be considered eligible. 

Q: Do I have to pay for this program?

A: Nope, it's completely free! The main requirements are participation. After two weeks of unexplained absence, any participant may lose their mentorship match to someone who is more committed to completing activities and maintaining communications with their mentee/mentor pairing. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in free leadership training and bitcoin education!

  • You must be an active participant of the program and have attended at least 6 sessions. (No more than two absences). 
  • Must receive positive feedback from Mentor regarding engagement in program activities.
